This Spring, the Massachusetts Academy of Sciences will be visiting several schools in Springfield, MA to present science to the students in a whole new light. Our first school visit will be on Friday, March 12, 2010. The goal of these visits is to inspire interest in the students with the aid of presentations that aim to prepare them for the upcoming science MCAS in May. We capture their attention with our collection of animals including Monty the ball python, Charles Darwin the bearded dragon, and our latest addition, Doc, an African Grey Parrot. The presentations, which will be done by MAS volunteers and student interns, will be on the changes of state, animal adaptations, and rocks and minerals. We are excited to be working with these schools, and can’t wait to show the students what fun science can be!
