Springfield Research Grows by Leaps and Bounds

written by: Alex Mojcher

Biomedical research is no quiet topic these days, and I am proud to tell you that here in Springfield, Massachusetts, a biomedical research lab is undergoing a massive addition that will bring more jobs and more knowledge for local scientists.

Throughout this year, the already impressive 17,000 square foot research facility will be growing by a whopping 8,000 square feet thanks to The Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute (PVLSI). More space will be created for wet labs and conference rooms, while offices will be added for the 30 new jobs they are creating to go along with this renovation.

Studies in the facility focus on a wide range of topics, from more efficient methods of diagnosing patients to understanding the molecular mechanisms of disease. The renovations should be finished by the end of the year!
