Most of my future blogs are going to be about the ENGAGE Everett! book and how it is coming along. The book is starting off with ideas so far. I will think of something to write for a certain section and just start there. I tend to go back and forth between chapter sections when I’m writing; I’ll be on one section and then think of an idea for another section. I do get writers-block once in awhile and just don’t know what I want to say…like right now.
I’m trying to provide teachers with guidelines on how to start a mentoring program. Included in the chapters are quotes from teachers that ENGAGE Everett! has been working with. I want to let you all know what we’ve been doing and what has and hasn’t been working for us, then you can apply that to your own mentoring program. So far, I’ve talked about research exposure, getting research into the classroom, funding and communication. There’s much more to come including student insight.
